I think you're referring to 1968 up in the thread with 68 frame and a cone engine. That one is out.
The 1983, the last bike posted here, has the original 1983 frame. So it should have the vin on the frame. But since the case has been changed no vin on the engine. Do these have vin on tranny as well?
Also, I am curious how the control mismatch happened. Is that something that you need to fix After swapping the engine case? I am guessing the guy put in the S&S case and it was just easier to move the controls forward ??
OK - I didn't read all the posts - It should be OK on the 1983 - you might want a bill of sale for the S&S Cases or the MSO to prove the cases are not stolen if you have to . Some States will want you to re title it as a homemade - or assembled from parts or whatever terminology they use. I think most don't really care about that - you might want to check . FYI - I'm putting an engine from a 2005 into my 03 - I'm not changing the title - just carrying a bill of sale in my phone for the motor.
Had it for 8 years, $5600 on upgrades with receipts including new paint, which I wish it hadnt, I prefer old and unfinished look on these bikes better. He didnt sound or look like someone who'd mess with bikes himself.
Did these come with Oil cooler? The oil cooler thing he mentioned kinda suprised me...
One picture doesn't show much, the change from the stock appearance is fine if thats what you want. You would need to look at the bike in person and go from there.
From the descirption: All numbers match Updated RIVERA clutch, Inner primary case, All seals replaced, S &S carb, New tires, Dyna 2000 ignition,
Oil cooler
Runs great
Talked to the owner, all work done by Harley / Indian shop. Wont go lower than $8300. Two extra seats probably worth $500
Lot of money for a bike that has had a lot of changes done to it.. From what I understand the Rivera clutch is a good upgrade as is the Dyna ignition system and S&S carb.
Need to make sure the title, frame and VIN# match.
..."alll work done by Harley./Indian shop"... He needs to have receipts for the work he's had done. How many miles on the motor and tranny? No mention of that in your information. At this stage and with those mods it will definitely have been gone into at least once.
That said, I only see a $6500-$7500 max price.

One thing to remember
Every Used Harley I ever see listed has a New or Rebuilt engine..
Red Flag for me, I go the other way... Unless receipts from a Reputable Shop!!

Why most my bikes start life as a pile of dirty crates and a bare frame...
