Default Oil filter

The brown in-tank filters are getting hard to find, I have been useing the paper PerForm ones. Would getting the adaptor for a spin-on be better? Any recomendations to look at?

While thats fine - some machines do not like the other style full flow filter type - the original we buy in bags of 10 from v twin and its part flow brown type

while full flow you would think is way better - original design iron pump used the full flow - when they went to the electric start machines in 65 and iron pump lasted till 67 they were part flow and kept it till the evo engines

seen paper work about this from the motor company - they was trying to clean up the vent oil bleed off 2 ways the part flow oil filter and they offed the rear chain oiler and re cycled oil for the primary chain and pieces back to the engine — it worked for the most part

No Issues w Perform ever. For some reason it seems I understood they actually filter better than OE stock filter....

I do Not subscribe to "filter better"... You can get ever fine (smaller Micron) filtration all you can stand... but... kinda what John is alluding to, Restricts flow terribly!!
I do Not wish to ever restrict the return oil Flow... won't even use a Cooler..
Plus... I would think it difficult to quantify the Filtration effect of the old horse hair lookin filter... and don't have a clue what the new Aftermarket Look Alike are made of, nor filter to.. Don't care... the Perform has been drop in and forget, for a Very long time.. Paper filters seem to be Normal ...so I'm Happy.
