I have an inner primary from a 94 touring
I wanna use it on my shovel build
Yes, transmission is the right one for proper starter. It's 5 speed from 1989 spline main shaft .
My question is will this fit on the shovel end
and if so, do I use a gasket or big o ring?
You need to be carefull the o rings are different sizes shovel and evo 94 so you have to use the shovel that is thinner < leaks maybe but if you use the right stuff in black or gray from permatex on the o rings and inner primary you have a better chance of it not leaking - if you use something other then that dont whine its leaking
now they make a gasket for a broken ring on a shovel BUT a shovel does not have 2 quarts of oil in the primary - so sealing that again is an issue
if we were doing it in the shop yea i would try the o ring before the gasket and glue it good

So put o ring on then a generous bead of The Right stuff around it?
