How about the old 5 quart oil change. You know drain and clean tank, refill with fresh oil remove return line at tank, extend it to a container then start the engine and wait for clean oil to come out (about a quart.) Shut engine down put line back on fill oil tank back up, drop in filter (assuming drop in filter). Job done.

well, I just change it hot or cold far as the filter i have a permanent stainless-steel filter they seem to work very well

You are really over thinking this.

Just start the bike, let it run for 5 or 10 minutes to warm the oil up so it flows better and then change the oil. Put a little oil in the new filter before you put it on and you are done
