Thanks for the compliments and kind words, guys. Shes pretty sweet and she runs great. To me, and this is the most modern Harley that I have ridden, the bike has good torque and power. I have ridden bikes with more, and I can see how people get used to having a six speed, but this bike is satisfying and comfortable. For the immediate future this bike will probably be my go-to ride so I can sort out and clean up the Shovelhead. That is one of the reasons I was wanting another FL style bike. The Shovelhead has some leaks to address, the suspension could be better, and its feeling a little under powered for a 1200cc motorcycle, particularly in mid/high revs. Its good to ride and does have some power, but I think it should be torquier than it is. So now with this bike on line I can dig into sorting out the Shovelhead. Also for highway riding, particularly in Southern California where the murderous lemmings like to text in their Priuses and Teslas at 90 mph, this bike should be good road bike, and with less vibrations my feet wont fall asleep like they do after awhile on the vibey Shovelheads floorboards. It also came with a LePera Bare Bones solo seat which I will try out for local riding. I also love the look and ride height of the Shovelhead solo seat, as bouncy as it is.
Cheers!
Cliff
Like the reworked brake pedal, the old one stuck straight up, really had to lift the knee way up to use it.
it’s not bad, it’s pretty easy to get to. The gentleman that I bought the bike from said that a man (he could not remember who) used his bike, this actual pedal, as the guinea pig for an improved FLH brake pedal he designed. He told me, “that’s my foot in the ad!”. He couldn’t recall the manufacturer, and I have yet to find the pedal for sale or advertised, have not seen his famous foot, but what ever the origins of the pedal, it’s good.
