1997 Road King with a Mikuni Flatslide carb, Andrews EV27 cam, and Thurderheader exhaust. I’ve been thinking about a carbed Evo to be a second HD to the Shovelhead, and this one popped up. I wanted side bags but wasn’t really looking for a full fairing. This set up suits me fine. The last bike I used for touring was a Ducati Hypermotard (the tank it too small!) so this will be fine!
So far so good, but could use a new set of tires. I have read that people find the Evos underpowered, but for a heavy bike this bike pulls great and feels pretty fast, at least to me. Cheers!
Btw, anyone know what Harley was calling this color scheme in ‘97?
A strong family resemblance between the generations?

Gorgeous. That bike in stock form is not much, power wise. Ask the man who owns one. However; with a Mikuni and that cam, yeah, it's gonna have some snot.
