Default Shovelhead installation

How to install a complete shovelhead motor into a swingarm frame? ps I am doing this by myself.

It can be done alone, but it's not easy. Some people lay the motor on it's side and lower the frame onto it. Others make a jig to use a car engine hoist. Others install only the lower end and then install the jugs, etc in the frame.

well thing only weigh 188-pound lift it set it in the frame line up the four bottom bolts. then the motor mounts

Before you tighten any engine bolts make sure the inner primary does not influence the engine block mounting

its also helpful to know the year so real tip on the install does not brake **** before before you then ask how that happen

Tilt the engine in bottom first from the right side.

Lifting the engine with something is the smart way to go. Borrow an engine hoist from a friend. Save your back and you won’t scratch the frame. Here is mine ready for lifting and install. Super easy…..

I like layin engine on the side . Bolting frame to it and you and 2 Buds , pick up frame and engine

I pulled mine to do the bottom end a few years ago. I don't recall doing anything particularly special, beyond using both hands.
