I had a Stinko on the back of my 2013 RK (came on the bike) and it was great, lots of grip. My 72 FX has them as well for the period look (they were on the bike when I bought it). Based on how inadequate the bike handles with toothpicks for forks and questionable braking these tires will be more than good enough until its time to replace them.
You are one of the lucky ones, my man Kees had a Shinko on a RoadKing and it damn near killed him as the sidewalls were missing something and it shimmied like a beast at motorway speeds.
Spooned on the 777 hd's today. They went on pretty easily. Seems like an average tire in terms of weight and sidewall rigidity. They did take a few ounces to balance up but the first ride seemed just fine. I mean, for $275 shipped to my door, I'm not complaining.
Tires are your connection to Mother Earth when on the scooter ... Invest wisely ... For as many years as I can remember I've been on Dunlops ... They've served me well ... A good friend put a Shinko on his Triumph ... This is what it looked like the next day after 200 miles on I-75 with his gal on the back ... No thanks

Yikes. Thats scary as hell. Running Avon MK11S my bikes. Traditional looking tread pattern and handle and hold up well
to hell with tradition or looks, i want and use tyres that stick to the road, handle and last,...
why would anyone care more about what it looks like outside a
bar than how it works on a highway at 70mph+ is beyond me,...............Avon's for me everytime
There is a Shinko SR777 HD tire on the front of my 2021 FLHR, it came on the bike when I bought it used. After reading this thread I am not feeling too good about that tire on my bike!

On a highly modified bike such as yours, anything goes. On a stock 60s Shovel a modern tread pattern looks odd IMHO. The Avon Mark 11s handle well and last. Besides, I dont hang out in bars and 60 - 65 is the sweet spot on my Shovels. Just saying. Avon Mark 11s
