Default Stripped stud

I finally stripped a head stud. I'm assuming this can be fixed with a 3/8-16 helicoil.

No Timesert for me...I use threaded inserts from Fastenall...thin wall (close tolerance) usually...and No Odd Size tooling required!!!
Edit; Tho a helicoil would be just fine in this application!!! And... those are 5/16 fasteners!!

Time-serts were invented about 5 minutes after the aluminum head was introduced!

Helicoil gets a Pass....no need to go bigger than necessary...and not Over Priced!!!!

This is why I changed from bolts to studs.

Note:
Stock Harley heads, and S&S heads use different thread sizes. 😉

Never had a bad experience with a Timesert ... Worked every time flawlessly
