This may have been addressed before, I don’t know. If so, I apologize. I have a basket case I recently picked up. It’s an 81 FXWG. It has the stock rotary 4 speed with hydraulic clutch setup. The case on this tranny has been chaffed through by the chain. I’m turning this bike into a bobber and want to put a foot clutch/hand shift setup. Ratchet tops are a more desired tranny for this. That being said, can I pull the gear set out of the cow pie case and put it in a ratchet top case. I’ve found aftermarket cases with new ratchet top assemblies. Is this doable? I would also like to keep the hydraulic clutch cover and set up a hydraulic foot clutch. Has anyone seen/done this?
Thanks for any advice you may have!
I’m really not concerned with a Speedo. Wasn’t planning on running one anyway. I just basically wanted to know if I could move the gear set from the cow pie to the ratchet and if it would work. I just don’t know if they’re compatible.
My Ratshit Top has pressed in output bearing...it's a very late Ratshit though...
‘ i have never seen a aftermarket with the press and not rollers my guess i dont buy from who sells them but he was talking re pop I just went with what i have bought 50 years on
