It looks like a standard but chrome M/C so could be aftermarket, My 84 Shovel is chain drive, no doubt somebody converted it at some point in the last 40 years.
Just because a bike left the factory with certain parts on, don't mean it still has them.
Depending on the model, could be chain or belt. It's my understanding that the "police" models got (enclosed) chain final drive???
Where is your MC leaking?
most Police orders, but not all),... were with rear chain drive as they didnt trust rear belts to last or be as easily changed as chains,........ which is true, a chain is one link and the new one on, rear belts need a hell of a lot more work to change out
I have a 1984 FXEF with wet clutch (diaphragm) and rear chain. I do not think your master cylinder is original because of the chrome and also because of the brass fitting.
My master cylinder is black with a sight glass on the side and is scalloped to fit the handlebar curves. It also has a Banjo fitting and Bolt.

I believe my mechanic said something about the plunger inside the mc. I notice when i look up master cylinders its asking me the bore size, so I got to figure that out.

Thanks everyone for the replies
Sounds like it just needs to be rebuilt.
Also, like sbrmike said, banjo fitting and bolt.
This is the part that is loose on the rear caliper, the hole is wallowed out. I see there are mounting pin rebuild kits available, not sure if that will help?
