adjusting pushrods
This is my first harley and what a first! I didn't know it was a shovel, hehe. That's why I have the wrong manual. I have come to call mine a Johnny Cash Harley since it turns out it is assembled from parts that span many years. I posted yesterday about the clattering sounding normal to me but know that I have read more and see that the pushrods are adjustable thought maybe I can take some of the clatter out. Although maybe I shouldn't, people are beginning to recognize the sound and know it's me that has just arrived. And if they're not home they'll know I was there by the mark the ol' wolf left on there nicely paved drive, hehehe
I would highly recommend HD or Clymers manual befor you start tinkering. I prefer HD but to each his/her own.
Do you know who did the motor. I can tell you that if the tappet were not installed with holes to center of guide, the oil will not feed across and hyraulic unit cannot fill with oil. Just a thought on engine noise. Normall on start up there is some noise, but it should quiet down once engine is warm.
