Still too high, it just needs to reach the chain, I use 172 ml or 6 USA Fluid Ounces in mine.

That first photo is where the oil level is on a newer bike with a wet clutch. I believe my shovel has been converted to isolated. Thinking about putting it back to stock someday.

Just curious on this, my 97 evo softail has a primary that looks like my primary that's on my shovelhead, and the evo calls for around 32oz of fluid I think.

Is there internal differences, the reason you dont use as much fluid in a isolated shovelhead primary?

Ok thanks. My shovelhead has the Rivera pro clutch.

When I called Rivera they told me my clutch was wet or dry either application was fine.

That being said, would you still recommend running the lower amount of fluid?

You can run more than 6 fl/oz if it is wet or dry, but not too high, it just needs to reach the chain at the bottom of the clutch basket.

Thanks guys, i appreciate the help.

I just wanted to clarify that it was the Rivera clutch, as Im not sure what kind of clutch a oem shovelhead clutch is as far as wet, dry etc. This is my first shovel, so trying to learn.

just enough oil to cover the chain when the bike is upright,.. it is all you need, any more can cause you problems as has been said many,. Many, MANY times here,..
no matter how often you ask the question, or in how many ways you ask the question, the answer is and will be the same,.. just enough oil to cover the run of the chain with the bike stood up....

This is what you want,ATF and just enough for it to oil the chain with the bike upright.
