Maybe a little oil running down the valve stems into exhaust port. Typically from tired valve stem seal or the actual valve stem wear.
Softest wears hardest due to particles getting embedded in it.
I sure would not worry about it. As long as it runs well.
Blue smoke is oil. Black is too rich a gasoline to air ratio.
Now if it's all original, fish and my service manual (non OEM) says a 73 did not come with seals..
Guess they weren't worrying about pollution and thought that would add to stem and guide life.
