Default Sometimes I do things I shouldn't

Well, I had the old, early Evo/late Shovel switch blocks a pre-95 master cylinder and twin discs with 2010 4-pot calipers, it all worked passably well but the slack at the lever would vary on a ride, sometimes perfect, sometimes slack to the bars and that sorta thing annoys me.

My local indy did me a good deal on a used 96-on master cylinder, freshly honed and supplied with a rebuild kit for me to fit and I had a new chrome lever on the shelf.

Later master cylinders don't fit the early switch blocks but because I run a hydraulic brake light switch, I was able to cut the brake switch paddle off the lever, take the original switch out of the switch block, and take a file to the boss where my original brake light switch button protruded and massage the upper part of the pivot body with a Dremel and Lo and Behold....butchery!

It fits, it works very well, and no animals or children were harmed during the conversion.

Now to tidy it all up and repaint the m/c.

Do you have a hard time ordering new parts in New Zealand? If it works use it, I would prefer new myself.

I could get one same day but at $450 Kiwi Dollars, I decided to go second hand and rebuilt for $209 Kiwi Dollars. Bike is 40 years old, secondhand parts don't show. Plus I knew I was going to take a Dremel to it.

Had a friend back a ton of years ago trashed his front brake reservoir and put a moped res up there as a fast fix and decided to leave it that way for conversation 😂
What ever gets you home is what I say 👍
