I done it both ways, but I like the Jims tool better.
The Jims 1047-TP is used to push the flywheels out of the case without using a press. I like it better because it feels like I have more control over the amount of pressure being applied, and how the flywheels come out of the case once the outer timken is lose on the sprocket staft. I've seen too many people not take care when pressing the flywheels out and they end falling out landing with more force that I like. As @Racepres said "You had Best "catch" that Flywheel assembly..soft/gentle or you Will be retruing!!!"
Either way, the OP needs the proper tools to remove and install the wheels and bearings to avoid damaging critical parts.

No control with a press and mine has 3 levels on it to make sure its going straight but the tool its safe and it comes right out
Easy to make a tool to pull that bearing into place. Find an old comp nut, cut the head off, weld some 3/4" all thread on and about 6 or 8" of 1-1/2" pipe, even PVC will work. I just heat the outer bearing some and they usually drop right in with a little gentle tapping with a drift. You really do not want to do any pressing or wedging with the flywheels.
Made this decades ago to push them apart.

Hey the timken bearing that goes on the outer race and gear shaft , can this be pressed on with a press?
I don't have the tool and can't get my hands on one
