I bought a custom built shovel from the dealership recently. They know almost nothing about the bike I bought. I do not even know the exact displacement. This would cuase a real problem for me buying replacement parts. I was hoping that I could post some pics and give some info and maby we could figure it out?

I see in the ad for the bike they list it as an 80 cu in, do you have reason to believe it is something other than that? As far as knowing over sized pistons and other specifications a guy finds that information out when he is inspecting parts once the engine is tore down.
If the cam is after market it should have some designation as to what it is, stamped on it some where.

From the photo's, that's not a Dyna with a shovel motor. It has a standard 4speed frame. If it has a 5 speed trans, it is an aftermarket 5 into 4. I don't see any stroker plates under the cylinders. The heads are aftermarket, Edelbrock possibly, maybe S&S. The cases look stock.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking it. That's a good looking Shovel, and looks well put together, just by looking at the fit and finish of many of the aftermarket parts.
As far as the size of the motor, you can check it by removing the plugs, cut a piece of coat hanger about a foot long, insert it into the front plughole and measure the stroke from the top of the plughole. Get the piston to TDC, mark the piece of coathanger at the top of the plug hole. SLOWLY rotate the motor with the kicker until you find the bottom of the stroke. Mark the coathanger again, remove it and measure the distance between the two marks. If it is 3.95", it's a 74. If it's 4.25", it's and 80. Anything longer, let us know, and using the assumption of a .030 bore, we can tell you what it is. I know this isn't absolute, but it will get you close without tearing your motor down.
Thanks, it actually has Delkron cases. It also has two plug heads. It out pulls my friends 91 Soft tail. They listed it as a 97 custom on line but the paperwork from the DMV says 2001. It is a 4 speed with a kicker. It has a belt primary and a nice Crane hi-4 ignition, and an S&S super E carb. Thanks for the welcome and the advice. I will let you know!
Yup, if ya'll look REAL close, at just past 3 oclock of the nose cone, just inside of the pipe is the Delkron stamp. Didn't catch that before. I used to drag race a 80 inch shovel some years ago that was set up almost exactly like yours. It would run mid-11's all day. My S&S E had a thunderjet & airbleeds. I also ran Leinwebber L61 cams. It's good to see a well built Shovel. It has the potential for future builds up to 114"

No, I don't believe so. I've kept my racing in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. I run on the local Harley racing venues like the Texas Scooter Times, Texas Motorcycle Drag Racing and such. Not doing a lot of it lately, either. The cost of fuel has slowed it down a lot. (Deisel @ $4 and racing fuel at $11 +)
