Default A friend needs help

My buddy who knows nothing about engines wants me to assemble his motor. Here is a little history about his bike. He claims he had an oil leak in the rocker box about 7 years ago and gave the bike to a guy who claimed he could fix it, well about a year later and not hearing from the guy he got the cops and went over to his shop to get his bike back only to be givin everything back is milk crates. He just left everything in his shed now for 6 years, until he told me about it about a month ago.
&nbsp\\;
So I took a look at it and told him to buy everything new because everthing was so rusted, so he bought a new V Twin complete top end kit, new cylinder heads assembled, new chrome rocker boxes assembled, new cylinders finished with pistons and rings, new sifton oil pump and breather kit, new lifter blocks and sifton lifters and hydraulic assemblys, new sifton push rods, brand new clutch drum and hub assembly, new clutch plates and steels, new primary chain and compensator kit. Now he cliamed the lower end was fine when it was running and has 21,000 miles on it. So any Shovelhead experts please give some tips and tricks on assembly.
&nbsp\\;
Also if anyone has some lower end assembly tools (I just need to get the crank back in the cases) not chainging any bearings or seals.

Boy your buddy got screwed.&nbsp\\;What year is the bike? If the cases were disassembled there is a good chance those aren't even his flywheels.&nbsp\\; Also if they had been removed, the could have been dropped or pounded out the cases knocking them out of true. &nbsp\\;It could be that he got back a bunch a worthless junk and discards from other bikes.&nbsp\\; Better start from scratch.&nbsp\\; Check to see if the cases are still a matched pair.&nbsp\\; They have an assembly number on the bottom of both halves that look sort of like 171-7876.&nbsp\\; These numbers do not match the serial number.&nbsp\\; The second and 3rd number are the year the cases were matched together.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;If they don't match, you have another set of problems.&nbsp\\; You have a long row to hoe getting it back together.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

The flywheels LOOK great but I wouldn't know, the case numbers all match, the bearings LOOK good but once again I don't know.

To put the flywheels back in the left case you need tool HD# 97225-55&nbsp\\; or V-twin # 16-0140 about $75.00 retail.&nbsp\\; You see them on e-bay occasionally.&nbsp\\; The right half will just slip on.&nbsp\\; If you replaced the cam or pinion bushing line ream them before you assemble the right case.&nbsp\\; The cam bearing is easier to replace before you assemble the cases also.
