The spiral throttle was the original style on Harleys to about 1973. \\; It used an internal cable that was a piece of piano wire that moved back and forth as a roller moved inside a spiral inside the grip. \\; If you have a large plug with a screw driver slot inside your grip you have a spiral type. \\; We used to call it a dead man’s throttle since it stayed in place until you moved it. \\; \\; We also used to screw with our buddies by replacing the grip with the spark control grip. \\; It worked backwards.
