I would definately replace the pressure plate with something besides the steel Harley one.They are not all that expensive.I am not familiar with a Tamer,maybe it is better than a Ramjet,but you need something to keep the clutch basket from moving side to side. As far as belt drives go,the ONLY time I ever broke down in 27 years on my Shovel was when my primary belt broke.The next day I put my chain drive back on.
Thanks for the tips. I think I will go with a new set of wet/dry clutch plates, I have seen a bunch of brands/types that vary from $30-60. The scorpion and its peers are out of the financial realm of possibility at this point, maybe if I ever do a full remove and rebuild I would consider it.
