Anybody ever seen a Oil cap that won't open? I'm having a hard time opening the cap of my oil tank to change the filter. I twisted the cap screw for a fair while but I still wasn't able to twist off the tank cap. Is it possible that it's broken? How should I go about in removing it?
I'm fairly new to maintenance, so maybe I'm missing something. But I thought that by twisting the cap screw, it should release/pop, then I'd be able to remove the tank cap.
I believe yours is like the one on my Ironhead. The T **** on top simply tightens the cap down on the tank. The cork gasket on mine is kinda worn, so my cap will come off even if I don't loosen the T ****.
I don't see why yours won't come off. On mine, if you twist the **** too much, the **** comes off. The guts won't fall into the tank, though, because there is a snap ring that hold them on.
