ive searched to find a torque tool to torque or even tighten heads very well ive had it done for me but was wondering if someone makes a tool for it
Guys generally make their own and many use a Snap-On FRDH181 3/8 drive torque adapter. Often as not though, you have to grind the box end to make them thinner which of course voids the warranty. may be some other companies still making them but I don't know anymore...
I've seen a few that were made with an S shaped wrench cut in half and welded to a socket - they work good too.
thats what we use,MAKE SURE YOU TURN THE TOOL 90 DEGREES FROM THE TORQUE WRENCH,if not the torque wrench will think its longer and the torque will be WAY higher than you have it set for
Make your own if you can weld. Cut off an old 1/2" dr from a socket and a box end from an old wrench, 2-1/2" from center to center works the best for me and yes your torque will be off if you use it straight out, 90 angle is OK, here's a link to figure torque for no angle.
Back in the 70's we never torqued them, same with oldtimers before us, we'ed just pull'em as tight as we could with a hand wrench after it was run a bit we would re-check them.
