Your inner sounds like a Cal Products if so leave it alone they be good **** , does it just kinda look more heavy duty big and thick kinda ? If so your golden , Find a hungry pit bull and smear hamburger on that life line crap and watch the fun . We tired 7 of them on the bumper at buds wedding , got peoples attention .

Ebay is the pits anymore something changed big time in the last 8 months , 85% of the stuff on there is from " Ebay Stores "and they all have the same tired crap at pretty much same prices , very few independent sellers . A year ago I was doing 3-5 thou a month scrounging for people and the wrecks they owned , can't find a damn jar of peanut butter on there anymore . Try Craigs List lots happening around here anyway or just start asking around .

Old Nick , yep there's still a few of those guys scattered still . Nice to know Thanks

Does Nick still carry at least $10,000 in his pants pocket? I spent alot of time looking for parts in his old chicken coops I remember one whole building full of nothing but trany cases I'm glad to see old Nick is still above ground Another HD parts find was in Reading Pa and guy by the name of wensel (mid 70's ) an old HD dealer I went to look for a sidecar with the old man and he showed me at least 15 Old man Wensel died in the late 70's Another great experience was a trip to an old barn just north of Allentown I'll save that for later ! This barn had 9 Knuckleheads/ at least 14 flatheads etc etc make that 10 knuckleheads I was there also

From sitting the commutator and brushes in the starter can have some corrosion on them causing a high draw.Maybe a starter dis-assemble and inspection might be in order.

So far things still seem good with the re-set of the outer cover and still starting good but now I'm kind of feeling that a better outer may smooth things up even more.

The inner is SUPER thick and heavy duty and I'm very pleased with that except for it makes the outer seem even flimsier. A new outer is high on the list of things I need to get. I may have to take a trip to Nicks for "old times sake" and look for one. You're right about EBay......it seems to have become more of an outlet for aftermarket retailers then it is for bikers selling or buying up each others used parts. Commercialism and greed ruin so many good things. Kind of like Harley dealers. :-)

When I was dealing with Nick, that roll of bills was ever present. When using cash, Nick would just give you a price off the top of his head, take your cash and pull out that gigantic roll and happily tuck your cash into it. I'm not even sure how he fit it in his pocket. It was funny to watch his face when you would tell him you were going to use a credit card. If nobody was around to run the card for him, he'd grumble, start scratching his head and make the biggest chore out of it. From what I see on his web site, I'm assuming he's letting the kids take over the business, the man detested technology and what I see doesn't look like Nicks doing. Nick "absorbed" used parts. His wife used to complain to me how they'd go on a trip and somehow end up coming home with trailers of parts. He'd, literally, would find places and buy their whole inventory and ship it home while away on vacation. I know a friend of mine that was a Harley Dealer mechanic and I would drop off pickup truck beds worth of used stuff to Nick and he'd take every nut and bolt. Now I see they're selling off the whole one chicken shack. Seems like somebodys trying to clean up things and I don't think it's him. I hope they don't change the nature and atmosphere of the place. I always thought of it as a safe haven away from harley dealers. :-(

Ya that's a Cal. inner hurky bastards aren't they but solid and true like we used to get on late pans & slab shovels stock . Somebody will have an outer laying around local or jump over to the General Chat forum and post looking for one , while some will squeal about wrong forum I see it done regular bet you get takers cheap .
Eballs went to **** , had something come in , had an issue wanted to email the guy direct and ebay will not let you without flying monkeys & flaming hoops kept routing me into the resolution center always a circle , can't give negative feedback either same drill . I'm done I'm seeing the old ways coming back your out meeting and greeting doing swaps ect. Guess the nets back to **** again .
