I needed a few things like a front caliper rebuild kit, fork seals, and a carb kit and naturally the HD dealers have nothing for 35 year old bikes, but are willing to order it. I tried to find some on line store, but most, like V-Twin and Drag Specialties are dealer sales only. So I had a dealer order the stuff from V-Twin and it cost me a 100% mark up!
Where can the anyguy order old Harley OEM type stuff without being a dealer? Who have you had good dealings with?
You can get most anything on Ebay from dealers on there who are willing to discount. shop around, you'll find different prices for the same item. I just got some carb kits for $9.99 ea + ship, I believe the dealer had gotten them from J&P Cycle. I recently had the H-D Stealer look up a carb kit for my 78 (Keihin Carb) and are still avail from H-D but are $35 ea. Most of the stuff you'll get from Drag and all the other ones are Taiwan junk anyway but depending on the part it doesn't mater too much. Usually anything Chrome isn't as good as original. If you need motor parts there are a lot of good American Co's providing decent stuff.
If you do buy from Ebay, make sure you know what your after, make sure it's the right part, sometimes people don't know what they're selling. It's more of a hassle to return but you can get better deals and it comes right to your door.
V-twin is a mixed bag when it comes to parts. They carry the Colony nuts and bolts and those tend to be pretty good. Like someone mentioned most chromes parts are of a poor quality. Oh and you can call and order over the phone. You do not have to be a dealer. they also have an on-line catalog which helps. if your indie said you could not find a new one because he may have screwed you
Depending on what you are willing to spend and how correct you want it www.nosparts.com is an excellent resource. He lists what is made in America and it will cost more.
from what you have listed I would think you would be okay with stuff from V-Twin. Nothing you have listed seems to be a limited production part.
