I was doing a little searching on lifters and came across this older thread. I just wanted to give it a bump in case someone didn't get to read it. There is some awesome information here on solid lifters. If you're dealing with this situation at this time you might appreciate this read.

Good info guys...

I'm running the Velva Touch hydraulic lifters, they made the engine run so much quieter and better!

Go with hydraulic , alot less mantinance , and no ticking coming from engine, on long trips the ticking would drive Me crazy , I never ran a open exhaust so mabe it would not bother You

Unless you are building a perfomance bike I wouldn't go solid.Besides adjusting them all the time they make alot of engine noise.With hydraulic just set'em and forget'em!!
