Go with your 1 3/4" pipes and switch to a .070 main. If you want it to run even better, look into khrome werks baffles, or at least a bolt or lollypop.
"Make a tunable baffle by purchasing a 1/4"x1" thumb screw or taking a 3/4" outside diameter washer and weld it to the top of a 3/4" x 1/4" bolt. Now Drill a 1/4" hole about 1" from the end of the drag pipes. Take the tunable baffle and place a 1/4" nut and a lock washer (away from the large washer) the on it. Now insert your tunable baffle into the exhaust pipe like the example below.
Well S&S box states 72 main jet, .295 intermediate jet. Took off bottom cover to get to main jet and found it had a 74 in it. Put in the 70 along with the 1 3/4 pipes and Khrome Werks baffles. Ran the bike a bunch this weekend and what a huge difference. Only problem now is off idle to 1500 RPM. Seems to be a little fat still. Guess I should brake open carb completely to double check .295. If this is bigger, could that be my low end issue?
Check the accelerator pump action seen more that a few where they where dribbling gas in constantly from over travel made the bikes real rich but the jets where fine .
