It took me about 11 months to do a rebuild on the motor and tranny but I am pleased with the results. The weather has been nice here the last few days so I was able to put close to 500 miles on it.I did change out the seat for a little comfort and elected to remove that suitcase from the back.Just have a little issue with the clutch but for the most part she runs just fine..
I bought mine new for $3288 brand new, FOB Geissen FRG. I rode it all over Europe, had a few issues, but was a great time. There weren't too many Harleys in Germany then.
BTW, someone on another post was asking about an exhaust that would clear a kicker. The exhaust in my picture is stock. Yours is curved to clear a kicker. Who made it?
Itch, I don't want to hi-jack your thread, but recently I was able to attend a reunion with the Army unit in this picture. From left to right was Big Dave, Toolman, Big Mac (deceased), Jinx, Raisen Cain (deceased) and Jonsey. I'm on the bike. There were many more at the reunion that aren't in the photo.

Capt that is a sweet looking ride you have, Glad it is working out for you. I too took my trunk off the back. Think it cleans up the lines of the bike.
Is that a police saddle seat on there? Realize you would need to take out the pogo in the frame but how did you secure the new one?

Yes I had that seat laying around and it help sit me a little lower in to the bike to make it more comfortable for me..Left the pogo and bolted the seat to the T bar..I will have to look but I know that I was able to get a bolt in the front of the seat and I think that I made some type of clamps for the rear but was able to use all of the holes. It is pretty comfy..
