Filthy, thanks for the input. I was able to figure out the small spring clip and suspected the others were for the gasket somehow. The only place that I can figure where to put them is in the screw holes that the inner and outer bucket use to join each other. Is that correct? The gasket has a grove in it on one side. How does it sit on the clips? And does it just sit there or is it somehow attached to the clips? As far as the cans go I can live with them being a tad short, only about 2inches and I have an idea for that. Thanks big time.
Joe, yes I had to change the lower tree as it didn't have mounting holes for the cans or the side bolt at the bottom of the nacelle. As far as can extenders, I'm not to interested in droping the forks again just to add three inches of can. When the forks compress as it stands the can will come close to the rubber already and given that they are oval in design and the lower forks of course are round, they are not going to go inside when the bike brakes hard but will most likely crash into the cans if you get my drift. im happy with the look although I think if the nacelle was extended but I couldn't find any that were chrome.
I wanted to mount a straight up windshield as well but am wondering if I can now or not as I don't know where to mount it. Any suggestions to windshields and brand that will work?
Damn that front end looks like it will glow in the dark! very nice.
Herz a link to one of the most common aftermarket windshield companies. They have an on-line catalog, you can order directly fromn them and they have tech support to answer questions.
And if you go with the traditional style there are brackets that attach to the holes on both sides of your covers. There are also a couple of spacers required (which means longer bolts than you currently have on there to hold the nacelle to the trees). National even makes a quick detach system as well, kinda like what you see on modern day Road King models and Softails
Also that part should be arriving around Monday (if it was bot held up at the border)
