I would just put it on the 30a main circuit breaker that you should have on the battery positive.

Nope, one of big the reasons they vibrated so much, and had constant problems with the seal ring on motors and inner primaries cracking. The later years stamped steel trans mount plate allowed a lot of flexing and distortion also.

Found this OEM polished 9 hole cover that are hard to come by. Thinking I will shine it up and run this instead of the black.The one I have is after market and it is warped, but it draws down and black is correct for a '81 FXS. I always liked the polished aluminum on the '71 FX that I had.

Got my stuff back from Truett & Osborn. Good people, I like them. I had them rebuild my crank and balance the assembly, bore cylinders and rebuild the heads. They media blasted the heads and cylinders, heads look so nice I may not paint them. That would not be like the original but...
