I'm ordering a Wild1 Psycho Chubby T-Bar for my FXDLS in their blackout finish. Looks like the blackout is a satin black, and I prefer gloss. Thinking of just having it painted vivid black, or having it powder coated.
Whats the better (more durable) choice? Since I pulled off the fairing, the bars will be exposed. I would prefer for them not to get trashed too quickly.
Or am I better off just living with the original semi gloss finish, from a durability standpoint do you think?
You could also try the Appliance Epoxy paint. I used the Rustoleum on my bars and mirrors and it comes out pretty nice. As many others have mentioned, long curing time. Still fingerprinty after a few days.

I use Wild1s Psycho Street Fighters and love them. You would need to go PC to have them be up to a demanding standard. The stock finish matches the stock HD controls perfectly in color. It's not a really flat finish, but like you said Satin. It's a very durable finish.
Why not look at another brand that comes in Gloss? Death Squad, WestCoast T-bars, etc?

I didn't even think to look at other brands. I've had Wild1's on my 2 prev bikes and really like them, so I went and ordered them without looking around. Oh well. I want to use the HD sig relocation which only comes in chrome, so I'll just get them both PC'd at the same time I guess. I'll wait of course until the bars arrives to see if I like the satin, but I suspect it'll be gloss.

Thanks
I can understand you wanting to stick with them. They are top notch to be sure.
PC is definitly the strongest choice. I went w/ gloss black Buffalo 1.5" (believe 6" rise) Drag Bars from Drag Specialties in gloss black and finish is super strong. Awesome bars for around $140 that I got them shipped new from eBay.
