The Trailer Queens stay all throughout the Black Hills, not just east of Sturgis. Most of the roads in the black hills are two lane roads, and most of the trailers can't go the speed limit especially going up hills and around corners. You have bikes trying to pass creating a very unsafe situation. 51 other weeks in the year you can trailer to Sturgis (still don't understand why you would want to?), but during bike week leave Sturgis to the Bikes.
If you want to take a trailer take it, always going to be someone going to post against it.
I agree with the others saying the heat inside the trailer will be hot for sleeping , You will need airflow for sure.
Oh if you want to wash and detail your bike before putting on trailer go ahead, There will be those people that just ride and never wash the bike if you know what I mean, LOL Do what works for you.
If it was me, I would pack a tent and sleep in it except for bad weather nights. Set it up in the afternoon shade of the trailer so it's cool at night...
Why are you being critical of me for asking someone to not be a Trailer Queen? Unless you are very old (a 90 year old woman rode her motorcycle from New Jersey last year), have a disability (hemmroids don't count), or are a vendor you should ride your motorcycle to a motorcycle rally. Trailering clogs up roads and causes safety issues throughout the area. There are 51 other weeks in the year to visit the black hills, why try ruining the experience for other riders? It is not that hard to ride and you will appreciate the experience much more. If you're wife is not into riding long distances, buy her a ticket and pick her up at the airport when you arrive. Trust me, you will have a much better experience riding.
You are making up rules that apply to no one but yourself. I have been to Sturgis four times. Each time I rode my bike there and back, about a 3,500 mile ride with the detours I take. I like to ride. I have no problem with anyone else trailering their bike there. That's their choice. I wish you well in your ride to Sturgis, and I wish the OP well on his trailered ride to Sturgis. You have no idea what the personal situation is of the OP or anyone else who trailers their bike to Sturgis. It is not your place to judge anyone else in this regard, just as it is no one else's place to judge you. And if you are going this summer, I hope you have a wonderful vacation, and the same for the OP.
Not sure what you're asking since the campgrounds are full of toyhaulers and enclosed trailers. Mine is an enclosed converted to toyhauler, but yes done this several times at the Chip!
Had the generator for backup this trip since the campground lost power several times the year before in 100 degree heat!
Taken several different bikes over the years just to be able to say they have been in the Black Hills.

I would agree with you if trailering had no effect on the enjoyment of the rally on other people, but it does! Just because you can do something does not make it right. You can be a Trailer Queen and trailer your perfectly running bike to Sturgis, but it does not make it the right thing to do. You can clog up the roads in the black hills while your fellow motorcyclists are putting their life in danger trying to pass (because you can't go the speed limit or pull over and let them pass), but it is not what you should do. If you don't care about my stance or opinion then there are several other threads you can read and comment on. I will ride out to Sturgis this year (1300 miles one direction), it will take me no more time to get there then if I drove. It is really not that hard, hell my wife even rode her bike out last year. You can disagree with my stance, but you can't argue with the points I am making. If you have ever been to Sturgis during the rally you know exactly what I am talking about. Sorry, You don't need to bring your living room with you when you go to a bike rally!

No but it's awful nice to have your own comfortable bed, shower, and *******!
I don't think he will put anyone life in danger. Everyone is responsible for themselves, if they F&%& up while passing it's not the guy pulling a trailer at fault. You need to be in control of your own vehicle.
It's a know fact there will be a lot of bikes and people pulling trailers . Not like once he get there he will be pulling the trailer taking in the sites.

Just because the OP can trailer his perfectly running bike to Sturgis don't mean that it is the right for him to do it! How often do you see BMWs or Goldwings being trailered to rallys? They would be turned away at the gate! Your motorcycle is made for riding, not for sitting on a trailer!
