Default Finishing Up First Stereo Upgrade

So I'm in the process of wrapping up my first stereo build. I got my bike back in October having upgraded from a 2005 Dyna Super Glide. My bike is a 2010 Road Glide Custom with detachable tour pack. I originally thought about adding the speaker pods for the tour pack for my wife. But after deliberation and the fact that I will often take the tour pack off when my wife is not with me I decided to go speaker lid route with 6x9's. My friend helped with much of the install as he has installed a top of the line system on his own bike. Still working on final tuning and such. Below is a list of the past and stuff I used.

-Pioneer DEH-80PRS headunit
-Diamond 600wx4 class D amp
-Polk DB component 6.5" speakers in fairing
-Polk DB 6x9 speakers in lids
-Mutazu Vivid Black speaker lids with new hardware
-Made quick detach harnesses for bags from RC nitro car quick disconnects
-Ran USB plug ins from the back of headunit to the glove boxes
-Biketronics Retro install kit with splash guard
-Steering wheel control module

so so far I'm really happy with the sound. Huge increase over stock

Nice start to a good setup. Very soon you will be back wanting to upgrade those polks. The 80 prs is a good head unit. Getting outdated with no xm and no hd radio, and needs front and rear independent eq instead of left and right. As an audiophile head unit, by far a great bang for the buck. The db's must be a convertible seperate. Enjoy your new system.

Not to shabby for a first build! Great job! However, I'm inclined to agree with Slye. You're gonna want to upgrade those Polk db's in the not too distant future. If you are huge fan of Polk. The Polk MM6501 components sound much better than the dB's up front. In the lids you might want to take a look at the Infinity Kappa 693.11i speakers.

thanks for the input! I typically will Upgrade in the future. One of my good friends has the hook up on getting speakers and such at an awesome price. I only paid about $120 for the amp brand new and I actually paid less than $400 for both pairs of speakers and headunit. For everything I did plus the Moons MC LED headlight system and speaker lids I only spent about $1,000. Couldn't justify spending $2,000 or $3,000 right now. But I figure I could upgrade speakers later especially since we did use all top of the line wiring and the amp is a pretty good amp.

I'm currently running some Polk Db 6x9's in my lids and am not unhappy with them. That said, I'll likely be going the Piooneer TS-6900 Pro route over the winter. Sure wish I could hear them though as no local retailer carries them in stock .
