Default How about a custom mod thread for the guys that made things by hand , NO OUT OF THE BOX OR BLISTER PACK MOD ALLOWED

Let's see what you actually have MADE with your HANDS and supply's to enhance or improve your ride . It can be OEM parts that you modified like cutting in half , or changing what it was intended to be used for.
And yes it's still winter , so you can BUMP those old mod threads if you have anything to show off !

Battery tray and top clamp for my sporty.

Couldn't find caliper inserts I liked so I made my own

Something to clean up the stem on bottom triple tree for my FXDC. No other reason than I wanted to make something.

Default Front fender spacers

One off custom spacers for front fender between forks cut and polished aluminum wasn't happy with plain washers

Had a couple calipers laying around and wanted something different for the rear so I made the mount & line set up.

What do you mean you can't put a rear belt drive on an old shovelhead ? Nobody told me you couldn't .....

All kinda mods and tweaks went to making this work including some frame & swingarm mods & welding.

My version of quick release cross overs for the tanks.

Changed my pulley ratios and needed to extend my swingarm a bit , made up new axle adjusters so there'd be a bit more support .

With the help of my brother and his machinery, I made this a/c cover w/ ghost bolt. I am now in the process of making matching front axel nut covers, if those turn out good then I'll make some for the rear axel too.

Nice work guys. I'm not that skilled, so nothing on my bike.

This thread reminds me of a guy who used to post here a lot. His signature said: "If it said Custom when you bought it, it isn't."

TwiZted, that brake set up is slick! Nice work!

Here' a 1987 Sportster project I've been working on for a couple of years now. Just kinda fitting it in between other projects. Pretty much made up of stuff I found cheap, or had on hand from other projects. The fork is a GSXr fork. I made the trees in my home shop. There's a thread on it in the Sportster section. (1987 883 project)
I've also adapted Triumph hand controls, because I found 'em cheap, and I'll be using the 16 X 3 smoothies I took off my Deluxe (after I relace the sporty hub into it). I also made the front axle to adapt the Sporty hub to the Gixxer fork, as well as adapted a Gixxer brake rotor to the Sporty hub. Why? Because I could!

Thanks it is a bit different. Getten there on the sporty I see.

My entire shovel is an adventure in modification. I keep a log book of what I did where and why so when I do go into her I ve fewer of those WTF ??? moments having forgotten something. Could never sell that bike just for that reason.
