What's the best option for adding floorboards to a WG? HD has a kit for $400. It's got some parts that are unnecessary so the parts guy got me a price on piecing out only the parts I needed. That took the price up to about $440.
I saw some aftermarket kits that looked like they were way more flexible on moving back, forth, up or down for about $130.
I put the Wyatt Gatling kit on my fatbob. If I had it to do over again I would have gone with the HD kit as the gatling puts the boards too high for my 5'10" and had to make lowering brackets.. Check ebay, see them on there every now and then.
You don't pull the primaries on a Wideglide anyway.
Right! Forgot WG's come with forwards. Thanks for the correction. Sooo all the OP needs is the footboard brackets and boards then? I have brand-new boards, I went aftermarket on the boards-used the rest of the kit except gaskets. I would part with the boards. That means all Op needs is the board brackets and screws. It's my understanding the right brackets can be spaced out 3/8" to use any exhaust. Not sure on all this but OP can get off pretty cheap it sounds like. What about the brake pedal-will stock WG work?
Yes - IIRC, the HD kit uses the stock brake pedal. For me, the right rear mounting point was blocked by the stock "shotgun" exhaust. I changed over to staggered duals and no problem.
Thanks for the responses. I am going to pick the bike up this weekend. All I've seen so far is pictures of it. The exhaust is V&H 2 into 2. I don't know what the exhaust model name is. I'll have to wait until I get it home Sunday to look things over better.
