Arrow Touring Luggage Bag(s); bikes without Tourpak. What are you using?

Gents. For those of you who don't have a Tourpak, what luggage setup are you using? I have been looking and checked out this setup at the HD dealer. Seems like a quality setup and the set should serve me well for my type of travels when needed. I like the option of being able to use one or the other, or both together depending on trip length. Can be had from HoH or Board Tracker for decent prices vs the usual HD dealer gouge. This setup can be bought in separate pieces too.

Anyone have experience with this setup? If not what setup/brand you are using?

Also, which luggage rack are you using?

Any pics of your setup on the bike? Any tips/advice? Thanks.

I bought the large bag to use on our trip to Yellowstone last year( my wifes' first bike trip), on my Road King. Very Nice bag!!! If I'm not mistaken you can get a pad for the front of it and use it as a backrest if you set it on the seat in front of the backrest. I ended putting a AdvanBlack tour pack on the scoot and traded the bag to a friend so his wife could haul her own stuff(lol). I bought mine online from Boardtracker for $210 vs $260 at local dealer......

One of the members here posted these pics a few years ago. Bag is the old HD Overnight Bag by SAC. I prefer it over the new one. Picked mine up on eBay.

I use that touring bag exactly as you have shown in your link.
It works great! Lots of room and easy on easy off.

Cheers, Terry

I would check out T-Bags as well. They have a lot of options for Sissy Bar bags as well as any other kind of motorcycle luggage you can imagine. The are excellent quality and have a lifetime warrranty

http://tbags.com/

I have been using the Super-T for the last 8 years or so when I travel solo and don't want a tour pack on the bike.

http://tbags.com/sissy-bar/super-t-t...-top-roll.html

It is super versatile. You can put it on a luggage rack or flip it around on the seat and use it for a back rest. It expands to double its capacity for longer trips and you can add the top roll for the really long hauls.

I have a HD Premium Luggage Tail Bag on my Softail that I commute on. I use it pretty much on a daily basis. I'm really not impressed with the quality. On the first one I had the zipper broke and the exterior nylon skin separated from the hard plastic structure of the bag causing it to look all bubbly. They replaced the bag under the one year warranty. The second bag is suffering the same fate. The outer skin is starting to bubble and the zipper has a kink in it again. I wouldn't purchase any of that luggage again

I never had a Harley with a Tourpak, but I do have a lot of soft luggage of different sizes
and shapes. I have packed up for a 2 week trip with even a 4 cup coffee maker. I had all
my old socks & underwear packed that I thrown into the trash each day. I did that known
there is a Walmart some where along the way. When I got home I had all new socks &
underwear. With soft Luggage you can pack way more then saddlebags and a Tourpak
can hold.

A buddy of mine and I have a similar Touring Luggage combo, but the touring bag we got is the wheeled version and the smaller bag is the overnighter. Nice bags but pricey. We got them with the rewards cash so a no brainer.

We both use the overnight bag for our full face and rain gear when touring, or just a trunk to carry extra stuff on normal rides. He has a King and I have a Softail Deluxe. We took a cross country 2-week trip with two others a couple of years ago and the big bag packs a lot of clothes when using the roll method. The big bag comes with a small pad to attach to the front, and can be used as a back rest when it's on the pillion. Nice on those long trips. They also have reflective piping so good visibility at night, and most other brands don't have that. The rain covers are decent.

There may be others that are better, like T-Bags, but these have held up nice in the 3 years I've had them.
