None whatsoever mate. ABS is all in the bearing size that allows the ABS ring to sit neatly outside it. As long as the wheels you buy have the correct size bearings to allow for the ABS ring to fit, you'll have no problems.

The diameter of the whole bigger wheel/lower profile tyre combinations end up being almost identical to the standard setup and doesnt affect the ABS.

cheers

Hello Lou Rider

VERY good looking bike ... I'm working in kind of the same direction not there yet !!

Regarding the extensions you have for the Rack or Sissy do you have the parts number of it ? are the from HD or aftermarket ? Because by my dealer they never offered me this option with those 2 extend bolts without this ugly extra metal plate covering the stock back fender arm ...
Do you really only have those 2 longer bolts when the rack or sissy is off ?

Would also be interested to know the parts name of the sissy bar and rack your using (pictures would be awsome to ...)

Cheers

Default Couple minor concerns

I recently took a trip up to my cabin in northern Michigan. About 300 miles there. Half way up I stopped for some food and took about a 40 minute break. When I got back on the bike I was going about 50 or so in fourth gear. Went to gun it to get around someone and got nothing. The bike sounded like it was coughing at me through the pipes and just maintained speed. After about ten seconds I let off the gas and waited about ten seconds before trying again. Bike took off just fine line nothing was wrong. I had no issues like that for the rest of my 800 mile weekend.

Next issue is a pulsing whir coming from my rear. Sounds like it's on the brake side of the rear wheel. I can really only hear it when off the throttle and slowing down. Usually the wind and pipes cover it up. I'm thinking I have either a warped rotor or a bearing going. Any ideas.

Yes im under warranty and will take the bike in. Just looking for anyone who has experienced either of these on their lrs.

Bike is mostly stock. VH big radius pipes and FP3. Hit 5k miles on my trip.

Thanks

Can't speak to the power problem. But the whirring noise is something I experienced for a long time. Decided to chase it down the other day and found that the rear sprocket was just slightly misaligned allowing the belt to rub on the outside lip causing a whirring sound. I tweaked the alignment a tad and got the belt riding dead center in the sprocket....no more noise. Hope that helps.

CryingJoker can you please post some detailed pics of your Air Cleaner setup.

I just bought the DK customs 606 with externally breathing vents like yours just want to see the final product to compare how mine will look/sit.

Did you need a throttle body bracket?

Thanks.

Here you go on short notice. I didn't need a throttle body bracket. I've used the dk air cleaners on all of my bikes. Simple and very effective. I simply routed mine behind the exhaust. Keeps any misting off of the motor. Only thing I hate is they don't make one to fit a 58mm throttle body which I might upgrade to later, motor needs to get more flow with the work done.

If you need any more info or pics let me know.

Took a LRS for a test ride today.

Hmmm. Not sure.

I guess I've been on sport bikes for too long as I didn't notice a huge amount of power compared to my old Harley. It was fine, but the torque certainly didn't blow me away or anything.

Seating position with the mids in standard was interesting, however, I don't see myself riding that way for very long as my legs felt cramped.

I was a little surprised at the handling. I guess it's just been a while since I was last on a Dyna, but I found the steering sluggish and I could feel every bit of the bike's (considerable) weight. Ohlins might help with that.

My Fat Bob didn't have that much vibration in the bars, but the LRS put my right hand to sleep in less than 10 minutes. I found myself repeatedly trying to get my hand off the throttle so I could wake up my fingers.

It could be that I've just gotten used to the power and weight of sportier bikes, but I expected to like the LRS a whole lot more than I did. I was really surprised at how crap the brakes were.

The bike has potential, but it would need a lot more upgrades than I was planning on. Will have to think on it.
