Sorry it is taking forever to get these videos uploaded as they are long and in HD format but finally almost done! Skip through the vids if you want instead of trying to watch the whole thing unless you want. I use YT and FB as kind of a storage place for my videos along with putting them on DVD so most of these are long instead of broken into short clips which would be preferable for this thread. I covered a lot of miles lol.
As a back story to those that didn't read the other thread this is a trip I have tried to make for 25 years and finally decided come hell or high water I was going to make this year!!!
I left my house around 8PM on Aug 24 and started the long 18 hour journey to Estes Park. Somewhere just before St Louis on I-55 after about 4 hours of driving I come to a screeching halt!!!! Semi load of what appeared to be 2 X 12's had overturned and covered the interstate with lumber. Nice 2 hour sit to get things rolling
The worst of the trip was yet to come. 700 miles plus of nothing but this. It goes forever in every direction and if I had to ride my bike across here I literally think I would lose my mind!!!! Not anything to see in Kansas or Colorado until you reach Denver.
I really was already dreading the drive home and have decided if I ever make this trip again I will fly out and either ship my bikes or rent some out there.

I eventually reached my Campground, Estes Jellystone Campground around 2PM, unloaded my stuff, and took a 2 hour nap before getting up and going into Estes for a few essential snacks and food for the cabin.

Home is where the Harley is!!!!
Like I said, home is where the Harley is!!!!
I even had just enough room to sit in my camping recliner. Comforts of home!!!!!

I went to bed fairly early to try and get a decent rest after being up for almost 48 hours at this point. The next morning I awoke and decided immediately since I was in Colorado I was going to start by getting "high"
Off to Mount Evans!!!! Highest paved road in the USA plus they would be closing that road immediately after Labor Day for winter.
This video goes from my campground, through Estes Park onto Peak to Peak highway and down to Central City just before getting onto I-70W
I pulled up and paid my $3 and let a couple on a Yamaha Venture get in front of me so I could video another bike going up. They turned out to be locals from near Denver that make the trip up once a year. Gave them my YT handle at the top and told them they would be on YT in a couple of weeks.
Place was very crowded and busy on a Saturday.<br/>Thank goodness they have a few motorcycle spots up top as the thin air got to me after a few minutes of walking around.
I only spent a few minutes up there because the thin air was getting to me. My campground was at 8300 feet and i had no issues, in fact I felt like I could breath better than I do at home not much above sea level but that 14,000 feet stuff was a little different! The ride back down.
Pretty lake down near the entrance to Mount Evans.
This would be my shortest route of the trip since I was still a bit tired from all the travel the day before. Still took a long time but got back to the cabin by 5pm and chilled.
