Rockford fosgate flash
i just installed the HD14-TKIT and Rockfords 6x9 lid conversion kit into my 17rgs. All is running and is very loud. Rockford recommends re flashing the radio to a flat eq and Harley's stock eq is a power eq (hi bass/high treble) dealership has no clue as usual however I'm headed there tomorrow so they can flash my radio to at least give me a fade control since my bike previously didn't have rear channels. Does anyone recommend which flash I should request as I have read there are many flashes that exist (4 channels amp,4 channels no amp, ex). A side note I called Rockford they have no motorcycle shops capable in nj of flashing my bike and very few car shops which are not trained (according to Rockford) to do the flash

Harley ships are no longer able to provide folks with the "flat" flash Fosgate recommends to any bike not running boom. HD forced a software update to the dealers and now they no longer have access. You have to find a shop that has spent the money on aftermarket software capable of flashing the bike. We have it but unfortunately have not started a mail in program yet. Not sure who in NJ can. Another option is a BT line leveler.

Thanks appreciate the response, I'm aware of the eq prob but I'm wondering if the different hd flashes will react differently to my amp have no understanding of what their flashs actually do to the radio when the boom audio radio is told there is a boom amp and four speakers compared to the boom flash of radio no amp four speakers .... what changes?

So should I go with booms amp and 4 channel flash or just 4 channel no amp flash? My only goal to this flash is to open up my fade option as my front speakers power over my bag lids prob because they are behind me ,,,,, also since you've changed to eq and seen the difference, How is it night and day?

Then get the BT line levelers for your specific sled.

the HARLEY dealer CANNOT do the second menu page part of the flash ,,,,,
However, MANY after market dealers across the country CAN & are using the Techno-Research or Diag-4-bike digital technicians, and the COMPLETE flash can be properly performed with either of those ,,,,,
WE charge $75 for this flash at our factory in Tucson and also at the BIG J&M Audio Trailer when set up at many of the rallies across the USA each year ,,,,
this video will also help explain the Harley radio flash ordeal and it is applicable for 2014-2018 Harley infotainment systems

I got my stock ultra flash for free at one of my local Harley dealers. All they asked was that i let my friends know where i got it flashed. The first time i got it flashed at a different dealer (incorrectly) i was charged $35.

Thank you for the info everyone my local did 4 speaker no amp they said the amp flash would make no difference because my rf amp won't talk back and forth with the hd radio. Now have fade control and stereo sounds great with bass and treble settings turned all the way down I may look into the line leveler later on thanks again
