Wild 1's 518 beach bars, love them! Great wrist angle which might depend on the angle you set the bars to. Mine just miss the gas caps at full lock. Slow speed turns like a U-turn I do have to angle my leg out so the grip goes to the inside of my leg, no biggie.

When I make a slow U-turn, I move to the high side of the seat to counterbalance (not countersteer) the lean. This allows me to swing my leg out of the way of the handlebar. So, that too, is a non-issue.

It all comes down to personal preference.
I agree with Bone Doc on this one. I have Chubby BBs on my Xbones and Heritage Classic. I have 16" Carlini Gangsters on my Heritage Springer. I have no trouble going back and forth between them. It's not the culture shock that I expected. The culture shock is going between one of those 3 and the stock bars on my Ultra. The reason is the BBs and apes are a lot wider than stock, which I like. I'm not comfortable with the narrow bars anymore.

Doc's right, it's all personal preference.

Try this: sit upright in a kitchen chair, close your eyes, and hold your arms out in front of you as if you were riding a motorcycle. The vast majority of people will hold their arms just below shoulder level and their hands will be angled for about a 12 to 15* pull back on the bars. That's the natural hand position and will be most comfortable. Now just find the bars with the correct measurements for you and you're good to go.
