There is no helmet law in KY but I wear a full face in the winter and I have a novelty (non dot approved) I wear in the summer. Sometimes no helmet or a hat.
I am finding lately that I like to wear the full face more all the time because I like the quiet ride.
I expect folks are wearing more modular and full face than ever before. I used to see only half hats on all the men. Then a few started wearing 3/4 hats. Now I woukd say in winter over 3/4 of the folks I see on Harley’s usually wear full face. Summer most still wear half helmets. It is really personal choice but as we all know a full face will give you the most facial protection.
For those talking about issues with fitment, wearing glasses, no peripheral vision, look up this guy FortNine on youtube. He does a ton of helmet reviews, very detailed reviews. He talks about many aspects, pros and cons of a variety of helmets covering all those issues. I decided on the HJC RPHA Max. You can find them on sale right now since HJC has a new Modular coming on in April 2018, the HJC RPHA 90 I believe it's called.
+1 on the HJC RPHA Max. Love this helmet! Excellent field of view. Good venting. No buffering or whistles. N never fogs. I wear prescription eye glasses so the tinted inner visor allows me to ride n the dark to work without worrying about carrying sunglasses for the ride home n the afternoon. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a ff helmet.
