anybody compare mid controls to further forward on a 48 Forty-Eight?
Hi, I have been riding my 48 for about a year now and I never really feel totally in control. I have been riding mids for over two decades so I am used to that but what really gets me is there is nothing to squeeze with my knees. I added a squeeze bar or whatever they are called and that has helped some but I was thinking I should go to mid controls. I went to my local dealer and sat on an Iron but I am worried my knees will be moved up to where the tank ends and there still won't be able to grasp anything or it might be worse. I am 5'9" so I think my knees won't come up too far above the tank but I am wondering if the further forwards will put my knees on the air filter and squeeze bar I added. I am wondering if anyone about my size has tried the further forwards on 48 and where it puts their knees? Thank you!

The squeeze bar as I call it helps balance the void on the left side where the air filter is on the right side. kijima knee grip is the manufacturer followed by the correct name.

First, you’d probably be better off posting this in the Sportster section.
My first ever bike was a ‘15 48. I’m 5’7”, the bike had the stock forwards on it, and I never experienced the issue are describing. My knee hit the a/c cover, even after I ditched the stock ham can with the smaller round OEM bobber-style cover.
I like mid controls better than forward controls any day of the week. On my Road King, I always ride with the ***** of my feet on the foot boards, and my heels hanging off the back. I like having my feet underneath me.
