Nah, just going by looks... Let us know how they work out.
thanks,
T.
Will do. But I haven't gotten a free moment since they arrived via FedEx the other day.
I will say this though, the mounting bracket looks plenty stout. The mount seems to be much stronger than a similar looking set of pipes I was thinking about that are made by Pandemonium (Yo Mama exhaust for Sportsters). I like the look of the Yo Mama a bit better, but I would have to get them powder coated because they are raw steel.
Hopefully I'll have them on tomorrow night or Saturday and see how they work. I'm not sure how much I'll have to re-jet and tune with them, time will tell.
Bought the brake pedal pad that matches my new footpegs. Not supposed to fit mid controls on a Sportster but it does with a little modification to the brake pedal.
Of course the hole in the pad lined up with a tooth on the pedal so I had to grind it off so I could drill a hole in it. Then I had to file the bottom of the pedal flat so I could tighten the nut up. Ended up not using the acorn nut that came with the pad, I used an internal tooth lock washer and a stainless 1/4-20 nut. Put some blue Loctite on the threads for good measure.
Sweet...

Couple hours riding on them, along with some extended idling in the garage while I was messing around. Looks lean to me, bit of white crusty. It's running ok when warmed up, no excessive decel popping.
I got Lucky!!
Decided with my day off to pick up my bolts that came in too finish up my engine mount replacement and finally do the rocker boxes.
Reinstalling the rear, the 3 aluminum bolts were being a pain tightening up. The one on the far right, really was not tightening and just kept turning. I was getting nervous when pop! She let loose. Ugh.
Well I undid the bolt and miraculously the bolt snapped but the Thread didn't!! Pulled the entire bolt out! I basically touched it and the thread let loose. Wow. Got some 3rd party intervention on that one. Glad I dont need to drill out that thread the rocker or head where it goes into. Used a bolt from the front to make sure the threads were good and tightened it by hand sand buttoned up the rear. Now I just need one more for the front, button that up, now that the rocker lockers are in, and put her all back together.
