Default Help with bars on 2017 Road king special

I ride a 2017 Road king special that has a CVO windscreen on it. I want to go to a taller bar probably a 16 inch Ape. it has factory 9's on it now. My question is do i get normal bars that come up or do i have to get the ones that bend back towards the rider then go up so that the windshield fits. these are the bars that have that angle back. I'm concerned being 6'3 that the pull back will be to much,

All i can tell you, not me but my friend had a 18" straight apes and they interfered with the windshield.....i personally would go with the 16" curved towards you........but at 6'3"... i would think real hard on the 18" curved inward (toward you ). Bars look great, nice choice!!!...
FYI, since you have a RK taking and loosening the handlebars is real easy, order the bars and at the dealer loosen them, 4 bolts, and strap on the bars for a proper fit....

Thanks for the heads up. I think ill go with the pull back just to make sure i clear the windscreen. My next project on this is to figure out how to bleed the hydraulic clutch once i install them.

I just installed traditional straight 14's on my RK. Had them pushed slightly forward and still had room for my windshield. However, I am running the stock windshield.

The CVO windshield comes back a lot...

With the stock 17 RKS bars, the CVO windshield is pretty much on top of the bars and not much room to push them forward (or replace without some pullback bars). With a 20" Freedom shield on the CVO mounts, it's even more toward the rider and really no room to move the bars forward at all.

I ran an OEM mount with the Klock Werks 20" windshield and there is a little room, not much though but it could possibly allow less pullback.

I just put a 22" Freedom Shield on the OEM mounts last night, TON of room to have the bars forward (or replacement bars with less pullback).

I knew there was a difference with the CVO windshield, but didn't realize it was that much!!! I don't think that would with my bars.
