You might consider a partial rear lift to compensate. I just did. Check out my active thread "Wide Glide Tank Lift....". Other than that, I don't know of any adjustment; maybe physically bending the float arm in the tank?
......maybe physically bending the float arm in the tank?....
+ 1 on bending the float arm. Second option is to use your trip odometer. I usually get 300-320 km (186-198 miles) out of a full tank of gas before I have to switch to "RES" and need a refill.
Fill your tank....set your odometer...drive 'till you're out of gas...don't drive that far on a tank of gas again...simple
some people gotta start thinking...

Ive been doing that since I lited my tank a year ago. It would be nice to have an accurate gauge that didnt trigger my warning light on with 2 gallons still in the tank.
SO...
If anyone knows some details on "bending the float bar"
Please chime in.
ask (mud) he posted it awhile ago, might be hard to find, wish i would of did it then. but i have been wanting to fix mine since i bought the bike, its been jacked since i bought the bike. so i was used to it before i lifted the tank. jackyl
You have to open up the tank under the console and remove the sending unit.
I put a half gallon in then I bent the float rod right by the sending unit (the rod has a "V" shape angle there). I opened that angle up a little, re-installed sending unit and with the bike upright and my weight on it, I recycled the power and run switch and waited for the gauge to settle (there's a delay in the circuit). I had to do this several times to get it right where I wanted it.
Now when the low fuel light comes on I have a half gallon left. Also when my gauge is now reading a half tank and I top it off I usually pump in about 2.2 to 2.3 gallons (4.7 gallon tank)
