Default Led colored lights question...

I have this post in electrical forum but I know I'll probably get more responses here. I am installing led colored lights on my Fatboy. My question is how long before the battery dies? The show is indoors for a Saturday for 9 hours and Sunday for 7. The bikes battery cannot stay connected to the bike as one of there rules but can use it just for lighting purposes. I was thinking just keeping the led lighting connected to it by themselves. Will the battery last if I connect it to a battery tender while the lights are on? Will anyone know of a better solution? Thanks in advance...

I don't know that I'd use a battery tender to keep the battery charged up while there's an electrical draw on the battery. They aren't designed to be a charger. But, why not hook up the tender on Saturday night and let it run over night so it's ready for Sunday. You could check the remaining voltage in the battery on Saturday before hooking it up. That would tell you how much drain the LED's are.

(Maybe send the tender's manufacturer an email and ask them your question. They'll probably need to know the total wattage of the LED's to answer you.)

Depending on how many lights you have they draw practically no juice. I think you'll be safe for that many hours if you go in with a fully charged fresh battery.
