Have a new 07 Heritage (just broke 1000 miles!), and was looking to change the stock exhaust.
I have not had the chance to hear the variety of exhaust systems I would like, and was looking for peoples ideas on what they like on their Heritage's.
Like to keep a 2 into 2 system if possible.
Can'tinterfere with the bags.
Accommodate the new O2 sensor.
Not trying to kill whats left of my hearing, but maybe increase power a tad, and have a nice deep sound (not looking for the sharp crack).
Have considered the Vance and Hines Big Shots, SuperTrapp Mean Mothers, or Bassani Radius Sweepers (if they meet the above criteria).
Looking for the same thing. Have not hit 1000 miles yet, maybe by next week. I want a little louder....power not an issue. But I want to retain a look similar to stock.
I am going to modify my stockbaffles. I got the idea from "The sportster and buell motorcycle forum. You will have to register to search, then search for Gronks standard muffler mod. I have a used set comming from Scrappin, Thanks bro,but I intend to not only modify them but make them removable. It will retain that stock look.
I went for the V&H big shots long. I like the look for the Heritage. They are a touch on the LOUD side, but "quiet" baffles are available as an option.
I went from stock to SE slip-ons to Rush slip-ons to V&H Big Shots Staggered. I liked the sound of the Rush best, but was really hooked on the looks of the V&H. With the "quiet baffles" the tone is good and the volume is acceptable, although a bit loud for me initially, I'm getting to like it.
a friend with an 07 Heritage recently put on a set of V and H True Duals, great sound, a little on the loud side, bad thing is they touch an oil line ( not good I suppose), and touch his leg on the left side (worse I suppose)...

I bought jwdawson's Rush Slip-ons with 1.75 baffles and liked the sound on mine. But, the exhaust warmed my bride's right foot too much. I replaced them with V&H BigShot Longs. Like the looks and solved my bride's hot foot problem. I do like the sound of the Rush better tho.
Like you, I wanted better sound for my 07 Deluxe, but did not want it too loud. My hearing is already damaged from 10 years of driving race cars and I want to keep what I have left. I started with Rush slip-ons with the 1.75" baffles. I liked the sound but had an annoying resonance at midRPM with a full or 3/4 helmet on. I then ordered the 1.5" baffles and it is perfect for me. Sounds good at all RPM without being obnoxious. Great Harley sound!
