Samson 36" Longtails with baffles removed. Loud enough for my tastes. I have had more compliments than complaints if you consider "yeah your bike is loud" a complaint. I usually keep it down in residential areas.
My favorite was starting it up and a Japanese lady about 100' away jumped and grabbed her chest. Her husband pointed over at me and they started laughing about her getting scared.
Really like the sound of my LSR2-1 RB Racing exhaust. It was a bit louder than I was expecting, but has a killer idle sound, and under acceleration it sounds wicked. It is a little loud for long travel at 80 MPH Freeway cruising. (Could be the helmet) but I like that I don't see many of them out there, and it really like the sound compared to my dad's Rinehart 2-1 pipe.
running freedom performance declaration turnouts on my Lo, with the stock baffles, still loud, about as loud as V&H big radius if not a tinny bit louder i think, look good anyways and sound awesome
i have run loud pipes and stock ones and see no decreeable difference in the way people around you react. i still enjoy the sound of aftermarket but it has nothing to do with others hearing me.
that being said over the weekend i had a VERY bad experience with loud pipes. was on a charity ride and was riding staggered well the guy just ahead of me on an ultra had rein hart true duals. let me tell you how bad it was, they droned like a sone of a bitch the bike must not have been tuned right cause he was puffing black smoke like an old diesel and to top it all off he had a hog wired or hawg tunes level 4 million. i was hearing his radio clear as day from behind him in staggered and it was awful 50's music. i was high from the fumes and had a pounding headache from the drone of that POS.
Now I put on the D&D Low Cat and pulled the baffle. It has an awesome idle sound. The kind that vibrates your insides. On the throttle it has a unique sound and makes the Big Radius seem like they were quite. I dig it. I really don't care what anyone thinks about it. I love it. I keep off the throttle in the neighborhood to be considerate of my neighbors.
D&D Low Cat
I had Big Radius 2-into-2 and I cut the baffles until they were about 6 inches long. That sounded nice. Wasn't too loud. I ran them without baffles and they were loud but it wasn't the loud I wanted.
Well, idk what brand of dual long shot type I have but they are commanding loud..
not obnoxious **** off everyone loud..and yet it made me start to use my ear plug/ ear phones and player..
gives me perfect combo of quieting exhaust, music/ radio..
I forget how loud my pipes are till I forget to bring my player..
