Default Anybody know a good strong, thin shifter peg?

That won't destroy my boots?

I have some thick steel toes on the Slim at times and getting them under the stubby stock shifter peg is not as easy as I'd like. I'd raise the arm, but then I have to raise the top of my foot higher to downshift. I'd use the heel shifter, but that's kinda a pain after a while in the urban traffic I ride in.

Also it would be nice if it didn't destroy my boots like the stock peg does. haha. But maybe destroyed boots will always come with the territory. Seems like it always has.

Not interested in any with skulls, or tribal bands or anything fancy. Just a nice reliable peg, maybe in black and chrome that doesn't draw attention from the rest of the scoot.

What about using a socket? Just an idea. Then you could use any size you'd like.

Try raising it and see how you like it. I was having the problem of not being able to move my foot forward to stretch out due to the peg being in the way and my big boots. I raise it up one notch and it is perfect now.

It is worth a shot before you spend any money.

I tried it out, Sioux, but my deal was raising it just made me have to raise the foot higher to downshift.

It seems like a small thing, but I up and downshift my *** off on a normal commute day over here.

I've just put the PM shifter peg on both my Slim and Breakout. I'm pretty happy with them. I rode back from the mine wearing my work boots today and changing up and down was easy and just now I've come down the shop with the Vans on and still happy with them. They are pretty well priced too. I got mine from Revzilla.

I'm very happy with the Kuryakyn Long Shifter peg and gives me more foot angle options. but I'm confused about what you need. The thinner the shifter will be tougher on your boots ~ thinner will not make the throw of the shift, change. Some people swear by the Heel / Toe shifters...I find the loss of room for my foot a pain in the ***. You can shorten the length of the shift lever and that would shorten the throw and the room on our pegs/floorboards.

I have a set of the harley crested pegs on mine as I was having the same issue...they go pretty easy on the boot toe and look pretty good. That said, I had to change the brake pedal pad as well, of course...

The sole of my boots sticks out a little from the rest of the boot. So I just use that "lip" from the sole to shift. Check your boots and see if you're able to do the same.

I don't really wear boots anymore, though. I just wear a pair of Chuck Taylor Converse. The rubber over the toe fits perfectly under the shifter, and it doesn't really scuff up like I thought it would.
