Sorry if this is an old subject but I was wondering about anyone putting a larger tire in place of their 200mm on their Softail?
How large?
I know for the factory rears with a 200, you will only fit a 210/50/17 or 210/50/18
There are plenty of full wide rear kits out there to run a 240-260
I'm currently having my stock swing arm widened to accommodate a 230 on a 7" wide rim with a chain drive setup. This setup I don't have to offset the primary like you will have to with 240 and up
i just bought a new set of wheels (18 x 5.5 rear & 21 x 3.5 front billet contrast)... i was also thinking going with a 210mm rear, but am worried about it fitting under the RSD rear tracker fender. i think I'm gonna stay with the 200 only because its already so tight. if i had the stock fender i would go with the 210
That little bit of change for all that money. Is it really worth it? Not only that the handling of the bike will be affected well. Once you get over 180 the handling does start to deteriorate.

I guess if you don't have much money then it's probably not the best idea. If you have loads of money then what's it matter
The ME880 210/50ZR17 was dropped from the North American product range about 5 years ago when we introduced the correct original equipment Harley size, the 200/55R17. This tire is readily available and please see your favorite dealer to purchase. Thanks for the e-mail and have a great day.

Because having money doesn't mean you're not making poor decisions.
Lol always shake my head when I see that bike. I wouldn't say a 230-260 is a poor decision. If it suits the build, and you got the money to blow, then why not.
I know a lot of people will look at a harley rider and say the same thing about poor decisions. Soooo many reasons that make harley a very poor choice. But hey we all bought Harley's didn't we.
With the amount of light years ahead better performance and better priced bikes out there, the only real honest reason any one buys a Harley is for the sound and its style. So I say go ahead and mod the **** out of it, they are just big slow cruisers after in comparison
