Harley HQ should be informed but they will claim no responsibility. Filde a claim with the local Better Business Bureau online and call the local broadcast news consumer alert desk. This will get a response.

Washington Lemon Law..I would check to see if this applies..talk with lawyer..

"A "nonconformity" is a defect that "substantially impairs" the use, value or safety of the motor vehicle so as to make the vehicle unreliable, unsafe or diminished in resale value for comparable vehicles."

10K to rebuild doesntseem right. 10K the bike probally should have been totalled.
How did you eventually discovered that the bike incurred this damage?
I would check yourstate disclosure laws, however, at a human level the dealer did the wrong thing.
Remenber, cool heads will prevail so hang-in there.

Within the following link: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=308-66-152

WAC 308-66-152, Unlawful practicesare the words:
(h) Advertising a "rebuilt vehicle" for sale with knowledge as defined in RCW 46.70.101 (1)(b)(xi) that the vehicle is rebuilt, without clearly and conspicuously disclosing "rebuilt" in the advertisement;

So on the tag that was hanging on the handle bar were there the word/words "rebuilt"? If not then 46.70.101 may apply: Denial, suspension, or revocation of licenses — Grounds (vii) Has committed any act in violation of RCW 46.70.180 relating to unlawful acts and practices.

You might want to study the WA web pages and ask the dealer to renegotiate the sale to your satisfaction.

I agree. For 10K, what wasn't changed? Did they just keep the frame and add a neweverything onto it? What model Harley is this?

repair shops are required by law to record v.i.n. numbers of any major vehicle repairs they perform, and this info should be accessible to any buyers, I think it's part of the lemon law...
